When the weather outside is cooling off in the fall everyone starts thinking about indoor flying at the school gymnasium. Ultra micro models are perfect for Friday Night flying sessions with the guys and now we have a true 3D indoor flying ultra micro airplane, the E-flite Ultra-Micro 4-Site. The 4-Site comes completely assembled with Spektrum’s AR6400L receiver and ESC/servo unit. This receiver installation features two long throw servos and two remote long throw aileron servos. The long throw servos are needed to provide the control surface deflections for 3D flight performance. This airplane is available in two versions, a BNF and a (not so traditional) PNP. We all know about BNF, but this PNP model includes the same completely finished airplane with the same receiver/servo combination; the difference is the PNP does NOT include charger or batteries. Both require the pilot to provide his own DSM2 Spektrum or JR transmitter.

David Payne is the E-flite Product Developer responsible for the 4-Site design and he was kind enough to spend some time with me outlining the features of the model. Since this is a “first of its kind,” full 4-channel 3D ultra micro model, I think you’ll find David’s information very informative. Check out our video.
